Secretary of State Marco Rubio is set to visit Jamaica, Guyana, and Suriname from March 26 to 27. The trip aims to further President Trump's foreign policy objectives in the Caribbean region.

During his time in Jamaica, Secretary Rubio will engage in bilateral discussions with leaders from Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, and Haiti. These meetings are part of efforts to enhance regional cooperation on various issues.

"Secretary Rubio’s engagements with our valued Caribbean partners will promote regional cooperation to end illegal immigration, counter transnational organized crime, strengthen regional actions to address Haiti’s political and security challenges, and strengthen the United States’ economic partnerships with Caribbean countries," stated Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce.

The focus of these engagements includes addressing illegal immigration, combating transnational organized crime, tackling political and security challenges in Haiti, and bolstering economic ties between the United States and Caribbean nations.
