President Trump is taking steps to ensure U.S. immigration laws are enforced. The administration warns that illegal entry, visa fraud, or overstaying a visa will result in serious penalties, including jail time, deportation, and a permanent ban on obtaining a U.S. visa.

The administration has enhanced border security and increased arrests and deportations of those in the country illegally. In February 2025, illegal border crossings decreased by 94% compared to the previous year, while arrests of illegal crossers within the United States rose by 627%.

"The U.S. visa process is the most secure in the world," yet some individuals attempt to bypass it using fraudulent means. Such actions are considered serious crimes with severe consequences.

The journey to illegally cross into the United States poses significant risks. Criminal groups target migrants for violence and extortion. Many do not survive the journey. The U.S., alongside other Western Hemisphere countries, is working to intercept and return those attempting illegal entry before they reach the border.

President Trump holds accountable not only those who enter illegally but also those who facilitate such actions. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced new visa restrictions for foreign officials who fail to curb illegal immigration.

"The risks of trying to illegally immigrate to the United States far outweigh any potential benefits." Violating U.S. laws jeopardizes safety and future prospects. The administration urges those in the country illegally to leave voluntarily before facing legal repercussions.

For all individuals considering illegal immigration, "the message is simple: Make the right choice, follow the law."
