Due to rising tensions in various global locations, the Department of State has issued a warning for U.S. citizens abroad to exercise increased caution. The potential for terrorist attacks, demonstrations, or violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests has prompted this advisory.

U.S. citizens are advised to remain vigilant in areas commonly visited by tourists. They are also encouraged to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive timely information and alerts, which can facilitate locating them during emergencies overseas.

The Department of State recommends following their updates on Facebook and Twitter for additional guidance.
