President Donald J. Trump and Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a significant phone conversation today, as detailed in a statement from Secretary Rubio and NSA Waltz. President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the progress made by Ukrainian and American teams in Jeddah on March 11th, highlighting the meeting's contribution toward ending the ongoing war.

During the call, President Zelenskyy acknowledged the United States' support, particularly noting the provision of Javelin missiles by President Trump. Both leaders affirmed their commitment to working together to achieve lasting peace under Trump's leadership.

President Trump briefed President Zelenskyy on his recent conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, focusing on key issues discussed. They examined the situation in Kursk and agreed to maintain close communication between their defense staffs as developments unfold. Additionally, President Zelenskyy requested more air defense systems, including Patriot missile systems, to protect civilians. President Trump pledged to explore available options, especially in Europe.

The two presidents also reached an agreement on a partial ceasefire concerning energy. Technical teams are set to meet in Saudi Arabia soon to discuss extending this ceasefire to the Black Sea as part of efforts towards a comprehensive ceasefire and ensuring security. Zelenskyy appreciated Trump's leadership and reiterated his willingness for a full ceasefire.

In discussions about Ukraine's electrical supply and nuclear power plants, President Trump offered U.S. expertise in managing these facilities. He suggested that American ownership could best safeguard this infrastructure and bolster Ukrainian energy resources.

Humanitarian concerns were also addressed during their conversation. Zelenskyy thanked Trump for facilitating prisoner exchanges and for addressing issues related to missing children from Ukraine during the war. Trump assured collaboration with both parties to ensure the safe return of these children.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of continued efforts towards making a ceasefire effective. They recognized the positive contributions of their advisors and representatives, including Secretary Rubio, National Security Advisor Waltz, Special Envoy Kellogg, among others. The Presidents instructed their teams to swiftly address technical aspects necessary for implementing and expanding the partial ceasefire while advancing towards lasting peace and security.
