President Donald J. Trump and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation to discuss the ongoing war and efforts towards peace. During the call, President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to President Trump for the support provided by the United States, particularly highlighting the provision of Javelin missiles.

The two leaders agreed on continued cooperation between Ukraine and America to achieve lasting peace under President Trump's leadership. President Trump briefed President Zelenskyy on his recent discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin, focusing on key issues and developments in Kursk. Both presidents committed to sharing information closely between their defense staffs as the situation evolves.

In response to President Zelenskyy's request for additional air defense systems, especially Patriot missile systems, President Trump agreed to collaborate in finding available resources, particularly in Europe.

The leaders also reached an agreement on a partial ceasefire concerning energy. Technical teams are scheduled to meet in Saudi Arabia soon to explore expanding this ceasefire to include the Black Sea, potentially paving the way for a complete cessation of hostilities. The potential ceasefire was seen as a step toward ending the conflict and ensuring security.

Discussions also covered Ukraine’s electrical supply and nuclear power plants. President Trump offered U.S. expertise in managing these facilities, suggesting American ownership could protect Ukrainian infrastructure.

President Zelenskyy thanked President Trump for his commitment to humanitarian concerns, including successful prisoner exchanges and efforts regarding missing children from Ukraine during the war. Both leaders agreed on maintaining efforts towards making a ceasefire work effectively.

The positive contributions of advisors such as Secretary Rubio, National Security Advisor Waltz, Special Envoy Kellogg were acknowledged by both Presidents. They instructed their teams to proceed with technical issues related to implementing and broadening the partial ceasefire swiftly. Future meetings aim at agreeing on all necessary aspects for achieving lasting peace and security.
