Secretary of State Marco Rubio engaged in a conversation with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi. The discussion covered several key regional issues, including the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the importance of securing the release of all hostages. Efforts to maintain assistance flows into Gaza were also highlighted.

In addition, Syria's political future and the cessation of hostilities in Lebanon were topics of focus. Secretary Rubio emphasized the necessity of permanently ending unlawful Houthi attacks in the Red Sea and surrounding waterways.

Furthermore, Secretary Rubio expressed gratitude for Oman’s role in facilitating the release of the MV Galaxy Leader crew, who had been detained by the Houthis for over a year. This facilitation was described as both critical and timely.
