The Peace Corps in Sierra Leone has updated its Request for Quotation (RFQ) for housing, originally posted on January 2, 2025. The organization is seeking a standalone residence for an annual lease with up to four one-year renewal options.
The required property must be located within Wilberforce, Congo Cross, Spur Loop, Spur Road, Wilkinson Road, or Hill Station. It should feature four bedrooms including a master bedroom with a private bathroom and be fully furnished. Additional specifications include a kitchen, dining room, living room, driveway for at least two vehicles, secure premises with security measures such as razor wire or an electric fence atop a 10-foot perimeter wall, and at least 2,263 square feet of living space.
Further requirements include good land topography and road access, a laundry area, complete electrical wiring connected to the National Grid and two generators with automatic changeover facilities. A generator house with grill gate and fuel storage tank provided by the landlord is also necessary. Continuous water supply from Guma Water or an alternative source is required. All maintenance costs should be covered by the landlord.
Interested landlords are asked to respond by March 28th via email or by delivering a letter of intent to the Peace Corps Office in Signal Hill. Responses should address each criterion specified in the RFQ.
Landlords need to provide their full name, address, contact information, bank details including account number and BBAN (18 digits), City Council Registration confirmation of utility connections to EDSA and GUMA Valley Water Company or alternative sources. They should also specify the yearly rental amount and availability date of the property.
Submissions will be evaluated based on these criteria. The Peace Corps/Sierra Leone will contact interested parties for walk-throughs or additional information if needed.
"PLEASE NOTE: If you submitted a response under the previous RFQ," states the announcement, "your application will still be considered if it meets the minimum requirements in the updated RFQ."
If initial submissions did not meet these criteria another advertisement will follow specifying different criteria for another residential lease requirement by Peace Corps/Sierra Leone.
