Today, Secretary of the Treasury Scott K.H. Bessent met with United Arab Emirates (UAE) National Security Advisor His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The meeting highlighted the robust economic, investment, and national security ties between the UAE and the United States. Secretary Bessent expressed his intention to strengthen these relations during his time in office.

During their discussions, Secretary Bessent stressed the significance of cooperation in addressing Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile activities. He also pointed out the need to counteract Iran's support for terrorism, which contributes to regional instability.

Secretary Bessent emphasized, "the strong economic, investment, and national security ties between the UAE and the United States," as a foundation for future collaboration. Additionally, he reiterated "the importance of cooperation to curtail Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile efforts as well as its support for terrorists that destabilize the region."
