The United States and Ukraine have made significant progress towards peace, as announced in a joint statement following a meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The discussions took place under the hospitality of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Both nations commended the resilience of the Ukrainian people and agreed to initiate a process for achieving lasting peace.

The Ukrainian delegation expressed deep gratitude towards President Trump, the U.S. Congress, and American citizens for their support in advancing peace efforts. Ukraine is prepared to accept a U.S.-proposed 30-day ceasefire, extendable by mutual agreement and contingent on Russia's acceptance and concurrent actions.

The United States emphasized that Russian cooperation is essential for peace. Consequently, it will resume intelligence sharing and security assistance with Ukraine. Humanitarian relief was also discussed, focusing on prisoner exchanges, civilian detainee releases, and the return of forcibly transferred Ukrainian children during the ceasefire.

Both parties agreed to appoint negotiating teams to work towards a sustainable peace ensuring Ukraine's long-term security. The U.S. pledged to engage with Russian representatives regarding these proposals, while Ukraine stressed involving European partners in the process.

Additionally, both presidents committed to finalizing an agreement aimed at developing Ukraine's critical mineral resources to bolster its economy and ensure future prosperity and security.
