The U.S. Embassy in Tirana has announced the opening of applications for the 2025-2026 Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program. This program is a non-degree exchange initiative aimed at international secondary-level teachers, with scholarships awarded through a competitive and merit-based process.

To be eligible, applicants must be citizens and residents of Albania, hold a TEFL bachelor's degree, and have at least five years of full-time EFL teaching experience in Albania. Proficiency in English is required, along with medical clearance and eligibility for a J-1 visa. The program excludes U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, and several other categories.

Participants will engage in university coursework, including seminars on teaching methodologies and instructional technology. They will also complete a practicum of at least 40 hours in a U.S. school and join an online professional learning community to share educational practices.

The scholarship covers six weeks, requiring recipients to return to Albania for at least two years afterward. The program is offered in Spring 2026 (late January to mid-March) or Fall 2026 (September to late October). Financial support includes airfare, accommodations, meals, medical coverage, and participation in workshops and cultural activities.

Applications must be submitted online by April 30, 2025. Required documents include translated diplomas, CVs, institutional support forms, passport copies, and relevant certificates. Late submissions or those sent via unauthorized methods will not be considered.

For further details or assistance with the application process, interested individuals can contact the Public Affairs Office at the U.S. Embassy Tirana via email.
