Standard Chartered has introduced the Private Markets Co-Investment Club (CIC) for ultra-high-net-worth clients, offering them access to private market co-investment opportunities worldwide. This initiative responds to a rising demand from sophisticated investors for efficient ways to build institutional-grade private market portfolios.
The CIC allows members access to institutional-grade due diligence while maintaining control over their investment choices. They also receive transaction support and regular updates on their investments.
For its inaugural launch, Standard Chartered has partnered with Ardian, a leading private investment house, providing clients with curated private equity co-investment opportunities. This partnership leverages Ardian’s network and expertise, offering clients structured deal flows and high-quality investments.
Raymond Ang of Standard Chartered stated: “Ultra-high-net-worth individuals are increasingly looking beyond traditional investment solutions to access the private markets. We are disrupting the industry with the Co-Investment Club to offer our clients differentiated access to high-quality direct investment opportunities that are otherwise not readily available.”
Nicholas Cheng added: “Our ultra-high-net-worth clients are seeking greater control and transparency in their private market investments. Our partnership with Ardian via the Co-Investment Club offers a capital-efficient solution for clients to tap into industry-leading expertise for programmatic access to unique private market opportunities.”
Jan Philipp Schmitz from Ardian commented: “We are committed to offering innovative solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of every private investor segment and enabling them to access high-quality private capital investments.”
The CIC is currently available in Singapore, Hong Kong, and the UAE, with plans for expansion into Jersey and the UK.
