A Consular Officer from the U.S. Embassy is scheduled to visit the British Virgin Islands on March 19 and 20, 2025. The purpose of this visit is to accept applications for U.S. passports and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad by appointment only. It is important to note that visa issues will not be addressed during this visit.
All applications must be prepaid online, as bank drafts or other forms of payment are no longer accepted. Appointments will take place at Maria’s by the Sea Hotel Conference Room in Road Town, with limited slots available from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM on both days.
Appointments are mandatory for each applicant and can be scheduled at https://bb.usembassy.gov/consular-outreach-visits-for-u-s-citizen-services. Walk-ins and individuals accompanying those with appointments will not receive assistance.
Applicants need to bring a completed passport application, two passport-size photos, original proof of U.S. citizenship, a social security card, a prepaid air waybill for passport delivery, printed proof of online payment, and photocopies of all documents including the passport being renewed.
For children under 16, additional requirements include the child’s birth certificate, both parents’ passports or identification, photos showing development since the last passport issuance, and if applicable, a notarized Form DS-3053 for consent from a non-applying parent.
Fees must be paid online prior to appointments through specified links for form DS-11 or DS-82 payments. Costs vary depending on age and service type; child passports cost US$135 while adult first-time passports are US$165. A Consular Report of Birth Abroad costs US$100 and notarials are US$50 per signature.
For those renewing a 10-year passport issued less than 15 years ago who can present their expired passport may apply by mail directly to the Embassy with a fee of US$130. If unable to present such documentation in person interviews with a Consular Officer are required at a fee of US$165.
