Banco Santander and Telefónica have announced the winners of their global "New Era of Customer Experience" challenge. The competition, launched in collaboration with the Oxentia Foundation last October, sought to identify innovative solutions that improve user experience, personalization, omnichannel capabilities, on-demand network quality, and anti-fraud security measures.

The six winning companies—originating from Spain, the UK, and the US—will share a prize pool of EUR 120,000. They will also join the Santander X 100 global community and gain access to Banco Santander's open innovation program, Fintech Station. The announcement was made at 4YFN in Barcelona, an event linked to the Mobile World Congress.

The startups selected include EV8 Switch from the UK for its software-based solution aiding businesses and consumers in transitioning to electric vehicles; Arcube from the UK for its data analysis platform that helps airlines monetize personalized passenger loyalty programs; and Lumen from the US for its AI-driven customer service tool.

Among scaleups recognized were Froged from Spain with an omnichannel platform that personalizes customer engagement; WIVI Vision from Spain for using AI in diagnosing visual impairments through 3D video games; and 3DDigital Venue from Spain for its tool enhancing ticket sales and venue management.

Antonio Suárez-Pumariega of Santander Universities highlighted how customer experience is crucial for business evolution. David del Val of Telefónica noted:

"The winners received a share of EUR 120,000 in prizes: EUR 30,000 split between the startups and EUR 90,000 between the scaleups."

Santander X supports startups at various stages through challenges and awards. The institution has invested over EUR 2.4 billion in education-related initiatives globally.
