Sun Life has once again been awarded the Investors in Diversity Gold reaccreditation, having first achieved this recognition in 2023. The company has also been named one of Ireland's Best Workplaces in the large employer category. This adds to Sun Life's previous accolades as a Best Place to Work in tech and its Great Place to Work certification. The organization emphasizes creating a supportive and inclusive environment that values employees and promotes a healthy work-life balance.
"Ireland continues to grow as a place for top talent and successful business, and Sun Life has established itself as an employer of choice," stated Donna Tilson, Assistant Vice President, IT Integration Strategy & Ireland Site Management at Sun Life. She highlighted the company's commitment to maintaining an inclusive workplace for its nearly 600 employees in Waterford.
This year marks Sun Life's highest ranking ever on the Best Workplaces list, moving up from number 14 last year to number five. It is the third consecutive year that Sun Life has been recognized among Ireland’s Best Workplaces.
Paula Kelly, Director of Human Resources at Sun Life, expressed pride in the culture fostered within the company: "We are proud of the culture we have created at Sun Life, and we continue to drive a collaborative, inclusive workplace that keeps employees engaged whether they are in the office or at home."
The Irish Centre for Diversity awards workplaces with Bronze, Silver, or Gold tiers based on their inclusion policies. A Gold designation indicates leadership in inclusive business practices. Sun Life is one of only nine organizations to receive this reaccreditation and one of 26 holding the Gold status.
Caroline Cummins, Managing Director of the Irish Centre for Diversity, congratulated Sun Life: "Congratulations to everyone at Sun Life for successfully upholding Investors in Diversity Gold." She noted their ongoing journey towards continuous progress.
Recognition as one of Ireland’s Best Workplaces stems from direct employee feedback collected through an extensive anonymous survey about their experiences at work. Beyond Ireland, Sun Life has received similar acknowledgments across Canada and the U.S., further solidifying its global reputation as a Great Place to Work.
Sun Life operates internationally across various markets including Canada, the United States, and several countries throughout Europe and Asia-Pacific regions. As of December 31, 2024, it managed total assets worth C$1.54 trillion.
