U.S. Senior Official for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Ambassador Matt Murray, is set to visit Gyeongju and Seoul in the Republic of Korea from March 5 to March 11. The purpose of this visit is to attend the First Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM1) and related meetings as part of the APEC Korea 2025 host year.
During his time in the Republic of Korea, Ambassador Murray, along with the U.S. APEC team, will work on advancing economic policies that aim to enhance America's safety, strength, and prosperity within the region. The ambassador's agenda includes collaborating with senior government officials, business leaders, and other stakeholders from across the Indo-Pacific. This collaboration seeks to align U.S. Administration priorities with the objectives of the Republic of Korea as it hosts APEC 2025.
