The Global Cooperation Training Framework (GCTF) is hosting an "International Workshop on Whole-of-Society Resilience Building, Preparation, and Response" from March 4 to 6 in Taipei. This event aims to enhance international collaboration in addressing cross-border challenges such as natural disasters, public safety emergencies, and humanitarian crises.

Participants at the workshop include officials, experts, and academics from around the world who will share best practices on various topics including civil defense training, stockpiling of critical supplies, medical preparedness, and protection of networks. President Lai Ching-te and American Institute in Taiwan Director Raymond Greene spoke during the opening session. Greene emphasized Taiwan's expertise: “Taiwan has extensive knowledge and skills to share with global partners. Taiwan’s vital expertise and willingness to support others highlights the importance of ensuring that the region remains free from threats and crises."

The workshop gathers 264 participants, including 61 international attendees from 30 countries. The event features seminar-style presentations followed by a hands-on site visit at the National Fire Agency’s training center. It is co-hosted by GCTF partners: the American Institute in Taiwan, Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, Australian Office Taipei, and Canadian Trade Office in Taipei.

Experts attending include representatives from organizations such as the Tokyo Fire Department; Australian Medical Preparedness; Canadian Cyber and Energy Security Policy; French Departmental Fire Service; Korean National Fire Agency; Finnish Ministry of Interior; U.S. Critical Infrastructure Unit of the FBI; and American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan.

The GCTF was founded in 2015 as a platform for Taiwan to share its expertise globally. Since its inception, it has conducted 86 workshops on topics like public health and cybersecurity with over 10,000 participants from 133 countries. Additionally, GCTF has organized events outside Taiwan in countries such as Palau and Czech Republic.
