Diplomats and foreign government officials planning to visit the United States for non-official purposes, such as tourism or education, are required to follow the standard visa application process. This includes scheduling a visa appointment at a U.S. embassy and submitting biometric information like fingerprints.

The Consular Section has announced that it will expedite visa appointments for accredited diplomats and their immediate family members residing in Turkmenistan. Those seeking an appointment or more information should contact ConsularAshgab@state.gov.

When requesting a visa service, diplomats need to include several documents in their email: the confirmation page of the DS-160 visa application form, the biometric page of all diplomatic passports, and a copy of the MFA ID card.

Diplomats and foreign government officials applying with a non-diplomatic passport must pay the standard visa application fee. Some diplomats and their family members may qualify for an interview waiver, so it is advised to verify eligibility before scheduling an appointment.
