The U.S. Consulate General Hong Kong and Macau has announced that consular services for U.S. citizens will be available in Macau on April 2, 2025. Consular officers will travel to Macau to process passport applications for minors, adults, first-time adult applicants, and applications for Consular Reports of Birth Abroad. The consulate clarified that notarial services would not be offered during this visit.
To access these services, appointments are mandatory. Interested individuals should complete the Appointment Request Form to secure a slot. Appointments will be allocated based on the order of requests received, and confirmations will be sent via email detailing the appointment time and location. The consulate emphasized that appointment times cannot be altered once set.
Regarding payment, no cash or card transactions will be conducted at the event itself. Instead, applicants have three payment options:
1. Online payments can be made at Pay.gov using forms DS-82 or DS-11 and eCRBA.
2. Payments can also be made via bank draft or cashier’s check payable to “USDO Symbol 8768,” drawn in U.S. dollars from a U.S.-based bank and issued within the last five months.
3. Alternatively, a third-party representative such as a friend or relative may settle the application fee in-person with cash, credit, or debit card at the U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong by March 28, 2025.
