QBE Insurance Group Limited has announced changes to its Board of Directors. Neil Maidment will join as a Non-Executive Director effective February 21, 2025. Concurrently, Rolf Tolle will retire from his position on May 9, 2025, following the company's Annual General Meeting.
Mike Wilkins, Chairman of QBE, stated that these changes are part of the ongoing Board succession process.
Neil Maidment brings significant experience in the insurance sector from his nearly three-decade tenure at Beazley, where he served in various roles including Chief Underwriting Officer and Head of Reinsurance. He has also held non-executive positions at Lloyd's of London and Ecclesiastical Insurance Office. "Neil has extensive experience across the global insurance and reinsurance industry. We’re delighted that Neil will be joining the QBE Board bringing his insights into risk management, strategic leadership and market innovation," said Mr Wilkins.
Rolf Tolle joined QBE's Board in 2016 and has been influential during his tenure as Chair of the Risk & Capital Committee and member of other key committees. His expertise in specialist insurance and reinsurance has strengthened QBE's operations. Mr Wilkins expressed gratitude for Tolle’s contributions: “I thank Rolf for his 9 years of service and commitment to QBE... The Board thanks Rolf for his valuable contribution and we wish him every success in the future.”
