The U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic has announced the availability of its Foreign National Student Intern Program (FNSIP) for the summer of 2025. This program offers local students a chance to gain work experience in a foreign affairs setting.

The internship will be hosted at the U.S. Embassy in Bishkek, running from June 1 to August 30, 2025. It is important to note that this opportunity does not come with compensation, benefits, or future employment rights.

Interested students must submit their applications by March 10, 2025. To qualify, applicants must meet several criteria: they must be at least 18 years old and either citizens or permanent legal residents of the Kyrgyz Republic. They should be enrolled at least half-time as undergraduate or postgraduate students at a university when the program starts. Recent graduates intending to start graduate studies later in the year may also apply if they provide proof of enrollment in a Master's program. Additionally, participants are required to return to their studies after completing the internship.

Applicants must maintain good academic standing and be available for approximately 10-12 weeks during the summer, working between 20-40 hours per week. Proficiency in English and strong computer skills are essential, along with goal orientation and teamwork abilities.

The Embassy welcomes applications from students with various majors including humanities, arts, law, social sciences, business or economics, public administration, finance, accounting, journalism, political science, computer science as well as international affairs-related fields.

Factors such as conflict of interest and residency status will also be considered during the selection process.
