On February 21, 2025, a public transportation strike is expected to impact Frankfurt am Main. The strike will affect all nine U-Bahn lines and ten tram lines from the start of operations. This disruption will significantly impact many passengers as the U-Bahn serves as a key component of the city's public transport network. However, S-Bahns, regional trains, and local bus services in Frankfurt will continue to operate, offering alternatives for commuters despite anticipated increased demand for buses.

Passengers are advised by traffiQ and VGF, the city’s public transport authorities, to seek up-to-date travel information close to their departure times. Information can be accessed through radio stations, the RMV service phone at 069/2424-8024 available around the clock, rmv-frankfurt.de, and social media platforms.

In online timetable resources, users can exclude U-Bahn and tram connections to display only operational alternatives such as S-Bahns, regional trains, and buses by selecting "Optionen anzeigen" under "Womit" and unchecking “U-Bahn” and “Straßenbahn.”

Despite the strike in public services affecting certain lines:

- S-Bahn lines

- Regional trains

- Local Frankfurt and regional bus lines

These options remain available.

Those planning to drive to the Consulate should note that parking availability is limited. Commuters may experience longer travel times both on public transportation and by car during this period.
