Secretary of State Marco Rubio engaged in discussions with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. The meeting underscored the significance of the strategic partnership between the United States and the UAE.
Spokesperson Tammy Bruce noted, "The meeting affirmed the vitality of the U.S.-UAE strategic partnership." Secretary Rubio highlighted his appreciation for the enduring relationship characterized by robust economic ties, defense cooperation, and shared interests in regional stability.
The dialogue covered advancements made by the UAE in technology sectors such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing. Secretary Rubio expressed a desire to enhance economic connections between the two nations.
Discussions also addressed ongoing challenges in Gaza, strategies to promote stability in Syria, Lebanon, and other regional areas, as well as addressing threats to freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.
Additionally, Secretary Rubio acknowledged his inaugural visit to the Abrahamic Family House.
