Representatives from the United States and Greenland met in Nuuk on September 15 to restart the Joint Committee under the Common Plan for U.S.-Greenland Cooperation. This plan, signed in October 2020, aims to strengthen diplomatic ties and cooperation between the two nations.

Its primary goal is to achieve the objectives outlined in the Common Plan through collaboration between various agencies and ministries. The focus areas include trade and investment, energy and mining sector cooperation, educational and cultural exchange, as well as scientific and environmental collaboration.
During the meetings in Nuuk, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to these goals. The initiative seeks to enhance relations between citizens of both countries by promoting mutual understanding and partnership.
