Secretary of State Marco Rubio is set to embark on a diplomatic tour, beginning with a visit to Munich on February 13. The purpose of his visit is to attend the Munich Security Conference, where he will engage in discussions with international partners regarding various U.S. priorities. During his stay in Munich, Secretary Rubio will also participate in the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
Following his engagements in Germany, Secretary Rubio will continue his trip by visiting Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates from February 15-18. The spokesperson for this announcement, Tammy Bruce, stated that Secretary Rubio's meetings with senior officials during this tour aim to promote U.S. interests by advancing regional cooperation, stability, and peace.
Key issues on the agenda include efforts to secure the release of American and other hostages held by Hamas and progressing towards Phase II of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. Additionally, discussions will focus on countering destabilizing activities attributed to the Iranian regime and its proxies.
The trip underscores the United States' commitment to addressing pressing international security concerns while fostering collaborative relationships with key partners in these regions.
