Siemens Digital Industries Software has announced a new partnership with Alphawave Semi to enhance its offerings in silicon IP, particularly in the realm of advanced technology nodes. This collaboration is expected to accelerate the development process for customers working on System on Chip (SoC) designs, especially in sectors such as AI and hyperscale computing.

Alphawave Semi is recognized for its high-speed connectivity IP, with notable expertise in 112G and 224G SERDES chip designs. These platforms support faster data transmission and improved reliability at lower power consumption across various fabrication processes including 7nm, 6nm, and 5nm technologies. The partnership will see Siemens offer a range of Alphawave Semi's products:

- PHY IP: Covering multi-standard connectivity applications like Ethernet, PCIe, CXL, and Die-to-Die with data rates from 1Gbps to 224Gbps.

- Controller IP: Including MultiChannel/MultiRate Ethernet, PCIe/CXL Combo controllers aimed at reducing power usage while maintaining low latency.

- Subsystems platforms: Integrating both PHY IP and interface controller IP for comprehensive design solutions.

This collaboration between Siemens' sales teams and Alphawave Semi aims to meet the growing demand for custom silicon solutions tailored to AI-driven markets. The partnership promises a solution stack that spans from initial concept stages through to production-ready parts.
