The United States Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina has announced the Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program competition for the 2025-2026 academic year. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, this program will bring approximately 180 international secondary-level teachers to the United States for a six-week professional development program.

The Fulbright TEA Program, established in 1946, aims to enhance educational exchange between nations. Since its inception, over 400,000 individuals have participated in various Fulbright programs. The upcoming TEA initiative will offer participants opportunities to engage in academic seminars at a host university, observe classes, co-teach with U.S. colleagues, and participate in an online professional learning community.

Participants can choose from general or specialized cohorts focusing on Girls Education, Technology Education, or STEM Education. "Applicants interested in this topic will be given the opportunity to self-designate in the application materials," states the announcement regarding the Girls Education cohort.

Selected teachers will receive international airline tickets and a travel allowance. They are required to arrive on time for the program's start date and remain until its conclusion. Housing will be provided near their host university campus.

Eligibility criteria include being a citizen and resident of Bosnia and Herzegovina with at least three years of full-time teaching experience. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through TOEFL scores if selected as finalists.

Applications are due by March 10, 2025. The final selection is made by the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FFSB). For further details or technical assistance during application submission, candidates can contact bhexc@state.gov.
