The United States Ambassador to Turkmenistan is currently looking for a skilled Residence Manager/Chef. The role involves planning menus, preparing meals, assisting with representational events, and managing the daily operations of the Chief of Mission Residence (CMR) at the New Embassy Compound in Ashgabat.
Key responsibilities include coordinating social events and daily activities at the CMR, planning and preparing menus for private and official meals, maintaining food preparation areas according to health standards, purchasing necessary supplies, managing budgets, and keeping financial records. The manager will also oversee cleaning tasks related to representational items such as silverware and linens.
Additional duties involve maintaining supply lists, recommending additional or replacement items to the Ambassador, serving as a contact point for maintenance activities, coordinating large events including wait staff needs, overseeing wine inventory, inspecting housekeeping work daily, and assisting with cleaning when needed. Candidates should be comfortable working in a home with pets.
The ideal candidate must provide references confirming their experience in menu preparation and residence management. They must communicate fluently in English, Russian, and Turkmen. Flexible hours are required based on event schedules. A security background check is mandatory.
