U.S. citizens in Slovakia are advised to exercise caution due to scheduled protests across the country on February 7, 2025. The demonstrations, organized by the "Peace Ukraine" group under the banner "Slovakia is Europe," are expected to draw tens of thousands of participants. The main event will be held at Freedom Square in Bratislava at 5:00 PM.

Additional protests are planned in various cities including Banská Bystrica, Košice, and Nitra among others. Counter-protests may also occur. U.S. citizens should remain vigilant and plan their travel accordingly.

The advisory suggests being aware of surroundings and potential spontaneous counter-protests. In case of violence or altercations, individuals should move to a safe location immediately.

For assistance, U.S. citizens can enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) for security updates or contact the U.S. Embassy in Slovakia located at Hviezdoslavovo namestie 4 in Bratislava during business hours or via an emergency number after hours.
