The Secretary of State of the United States, alongside the Foreign Ministers of Australia, India, and Japan, released a joint statement following their meeting in Washington D.C. The ministers emphasized their shared commitment to upholding a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific," highlighting the importance of the rule of law, democratic values, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The statement reiterated that international law, economic opportunity, peace, stability, and security are crucial for the development and prosperity of the Indo-Pacific region. It was noted that these principles extend to all domains, including maritime areas. The ministers collectively opposed any unilateral actions aimed at altering the status quo through force or coercion.

Furthermore, they pledged to enhance regional maritime, economic, and technology security amid rising threats. Promoting reliable and resilient supply chains was also underscored as a priority. The ministers expressed their anticipation for advancing Quad initiatives in upcoming months. Regular meetings will be held as they prepare for the next Quad Leaders’ Summit in India.
