As of February 26, the Serbian Ministry of Health reported 453,240 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 4,414 deaths in Serbia. In the past 24 hours, 14,128 people were tested with 3,339 confirmed cases among them. Currently, there are approximately 3,876 hospitalized cases.

The Serbian Government has updated its country-wide measures effective from February 27-28. Shopping malls, restaurants, and cafes can remain open until 2:00 p.m., while food retail outlets will continue to operate until 9:00 p.m. The Crisis Team plans to reassess these measures on March 1.

Previous measures that remain in effect include unrestricted operation of pharmacies, gas stations, and food delivery services throughout the week. Face coverings are mandatory indoors and outdoors if contact with others cannot be avoided. Public gatherings are limited to five people both indoors and outdoors; however, work organizations and similar facilities must adhere to a prescribed limit based on square footage (minimum four square meters per person). Work from home is encouraged where possible.

Public transport requires face coverings with passenger numbers limited to half capacity. Hospital visits are banned while visits to elder-care homes are restricted to fifteen minutes. A recommended distance of 1.5 meters between people outdoors is advised.

Entry into Serbia continues under previous regulations requiring passengers from the United States to present either a negative PCR or antigen test. Foreigners seeking entry must provide a negative PCR test issued within the last forty-eight hours unless they fall into specific exempt categories such as transit passengers or accredited diplomatic staff.

Foreign citizens with temporary or permanent residence in Serbia may enter without a negative PCR test but must quarantine at home for ten days and contact a designated COVID-19 clinic within twenty-four hours of arrival through www.e-zdravlje.gov.rs.

Travelers heading to the United States must provide a negative COVID-19 viral test taken within three days before travel or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 within ninety days preceding travel.

U.S. citizens are encouraged to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) for alerts and check the Embassy's COVID-19 webpage for updates. The U.S Department of State Travel Advisory for Serbia is Level 3: Reconsider Travel while the CDC has issued a Level 4 Warning advising against non-essential travel.
