Today, President Donald J. Trump officially recognized February 2025 as National Black History Month. This annual event celebrates the contributions of black Americans who have played a significant role in shaping the nation's history.

In his proclamation, President Trump highlighted the impact of black American leaders on the cultural and political landscape of the United States. He mentioned notable figures such as Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Thomas Sowell, and Justice Clarence Thomas, acknowledging their achievements in advancing equality under the law.

President Trump also acknowledged individuals like Tiger Woods for pushing boundaries in their respective fields and inspiring future generations. "Their achievements...continue to serve as an inspiration for all Americans," he stated.

As America prepares to enter what President Trump described as a "historic Golden Age," he expressed gratitude to black Americans for their past and future contributions. "I want to extend my tremendous gratitude to black Americans for all they have done to bring us to this moment," he said.

The proclamation calls upon public officials, educators, librarians, and citizens across the nation to observe National Black History Month with appropriate programs and activities.

"NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP...do hereby proclaim February 2025 as National Black History Month," President Trump declared.
