Trump proclaims February 2025 as National Black History Month

Today, President Donald J. Trump announced the recognition of February 2025 as National Black History Month. The annual observance celebrates the contributions of black American patriots who have significantly influenced the nation's history.

President Trump acknowledged the impact of black Americans as leaders shaping the cultural and political landscape of the United States. He highlighted figures such as Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Thomas Sowell, Justice Clarence Thomas, and Tiger Woods for their roles in advancing equality and excellence.

"This National Black History Month, as America prepares to enter a historic Golden Age," President Trump stated, "I want to extend my tremendous gratitude to black Americans for all they have done to bring us to this moment."

The proclamation calls on public officials, educators, librarians, and citizens to observe the month with appropriate programs and activities.

"In witness whereof," President Trump concluded his statement by marking January 31st as the official date of signing for this proclamation in 2025.
