The U.S. Embassy in Tokyo is urging Japanese companies interested in establishing a presence in the United States to participate in the 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit. This event will be held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland from May 11-14, 2025.

Described as "the highest profile event in the United States to facilitate business investment," the summit aims to connect investors, companies, economic development organizations (EDOs), and industry experts to encourage foreign direct investment. The U.S. Embassy Tokyo will lead the Japan delegation, with the event hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Japanese participants will have various opportunities including exploring an Exhibition Hall that features EDOs, service providers, industry experts, and international tech startups. They can also network with representatives from over 50 states and territories and companies from more than 80 markets. Attendees can gather advice from policy and industry experts across more than 100 sessions on topics ranging from workforce development to understanding incentives.

Participants are encouraged to form partnerships with industry partners throughout the United States and join events specifically designed for the Japan delegation. Additionally, they can participate in SelectUSA Spinoffs to explore regional business opportunities.

The SelectUSA Tech program is targeted at eligible international tech startups planning expansion into the U.S. market within two to three years. The summit promises numerous opportunities including exclusive space within the SelectUSA Tech Pavilion for presenting products or services, informational sessions on investment trends and key industry subsectors, as well as tech industry pitching sessions for selected applicants before a panel of judges.

Networking opportunities will be available through various platforms including in-person interactions at the pavilion and virtual networking sessions.
