On September 23, a demonstration organized by Youth for Climate Luxembourg took place in Luxembourg City. The event began at Place Clairefontaine and proceeded through the downtown area, concluding at the Glacis. The demonstration was scheduled from 3 PM to 7 PM, with local police anticipating traffic disruptions.
Another demonstration occurred on September 26, focusing on demands for improved working conditions and remuneration for Luxair employees. This protest started at 8 AM in the Glacis area and ended in front of the Ministry of Mobility on Place de l’Europe (Kirchberg). Approximately 800 participants were expected.
Historically, such gatherings in Luxembourg have been peaceful. However, caution was advised as demonstrations can become unpredictable. Local police monitored both events. No street closures were initially reported but could change based on attendance.
The U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg provided information about these events and encouraged enrollment in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) for updates. Contact details for emergency consular assistance were also provided.
