The U.S. Consulate General in Amsterdam has announced a temporary suspension of routine in-person consular services from March to May 2025 due to a scheduled building upgrade project. During this period, emergency assistance for U.S. citizens will remain available, and mail-in U.S. passport renewal applications will continue to be accepted.
Limited in-person routine consular services are expected to resume in June 2025. Updates on service availability will be provided on the Mission Netherlands website and through social media platforms X and Facebook.
U.S. citizens requiring passport and citizenship services during the suspension period are advised to seek assistance at other U.S. embassies or consulates abroad. Those preferring services at the Amsterdam location should consider mail-in renewal options if eligible or schedule appointments before March or after May 2025.
Foreign nationals seeking nonimmigrant visas to the United States between March and May 2025 must arrange appointments at alternative locations. Since May 2024, immigrant visas have been processed by the U.S. Consulate General in Frankfurt.
Appointments can be scheduled via the consulate's website.
