Daniel Rubinstein has held several significant diplomatic positions throughout his career. He served as Charge d’Affaires to Sudan, Director of the Office of Sudan Affairs in Addis Ababa from February to May 2024, and Head of the U.S. Delegation to the Jeddah Talks for Sudan. Prior to these roles, he was Charge d’Affaires in Egypt from August 2022 to March 2023 and Ambassador to Tunisia from 2015 to 2019.

His earlier assignments include serving as Special Envoy for Syria, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Intelligence and Research, Consul General and Chief of Mission in Jerusalem, Chief of the Civilian Observer Unit in the Multinational Force and Observers in Sinai, Egypt, and Deputy Chief of Mission in Amman.

Ambassador Rubinstein is an alumnus of the University of California, Berkeley. He is also proficient in Arabic.
