Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently held a conversation with Venezuela's recognized president, Edmundo González Urrutia, and opposition leader María Corina Machado. The Secretary expressed admiration for the Venezuelan people's resilience against the repression by Nicolás Maduro and his associates.

During the call, Secretary Rubio reiterated the United States' commitment to supporting democracy in Venezuela. He emphasized the need for the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners, aligning with the peaceful democratic goals of Venezuelans.
