Serving as the 72nd Secretary of State, the official has outlined the priorities and mission of the Department of State under President Trump's administration. The focus is on aligning American foreign policy with core national interests, ensuring every action is evaluated by its impact on America's safety, strength, and prosperity.

The Secretary emphasized building a more innovative and focused State Department, which involves reassessing current priorities. Key objectives include curbing mass migration and securing borders. The department will shift its diplomatic efforts towards preventing illegal migration and negotiating the repatriation of illegal immigrants.

Performance and merit within the department are also highlighted, following an executive order from President Trump to eliminate "DEIA" requirements across government sectors. The order aims to streamline focus on pragmatic diplomacy over political or cultural issues deemed divisive domestically or unpopular internationally.

Another priority is addressing censorship concerns. The department plans to end programs that may censor Americans while combating enemy propaganda based on fundamental truths about America.

Climate policies that could weaken America are also being reconsidered. While environmental protection remains important, the emphasis will be on supporting American energy dominance through diplomatic means.

The Secretary stated: "President Trump’s forward-looking agenda for our country and foreign relations will guide the State Department’s refocus on American national interests." This statement reflects a commitment to advancing U.S. interests amid global power dynamics.
