The Chief of the U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs delivered a holiday message highlighting the ongoing relationship between the United States and Palestinians. The event was held at a historically significant building in Jerusalem, which has been an American diplomatic site since 1912.

Chief Noll expressed gratitude for the strong ties with the Palestinian people and emphasized that this season is for reflection and spending time with loved ones. The U.S. Office aims to promote peace through a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Quoting the Secretary of State, Chief Noll noted, "Jerusalem is central to the national visions of both Palestinians and Israelis and must be a city for all of its people." Despite challenges, there is optimism for progress toward peace.

Noll stated that since President Biden took office, nearly $1 billion has been provided in assistance focusing on essential areas like food, economic development, vaccines, water, sanitation, and security. Last month saw the appointment of Hady Amr as the first U.S. Special Representative for Palestinian Affairs.

The Office has engaged more extensively with Palestinian leadership and civil society this year. Key dialogues included economic discussions and cultural exchanges such as sports and arts envoy visits.

Chief Noll concluded by expressing hopes for continued strengthening of relations next year: "I wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year to all!"
