Santander partners with Coursera for free training access

Banco Santander has announced a partnership with Coursera, a global online learning platform, to offer 10,000 scholarships for access to Coursera's training content free of charge for one year. This initiative will be available across 13 different countries.

The beneficiaries will have access to over 13,000 courses and guided projects on various subjects including marketing and communication, soft skills, ESG sustainability criteria, data science, and cybersecurity. They can also pursue professional certifications from companies such as IBM, Microsoft, Google, AWS, and others. The program is open to all individuals regardless of their affiliation with Banco Santander or educational background.

Applications for the scholarships are open until March 19 and can be submitted through the Santander Open Academy website. This academy is Santander’s global platform focused on learning and professional development aimed at enhancing skills and employability through funded courses and scholarships from prestigious institutions.

The collaboration between Santander and Coursera seeks to improve employability by providing individuals with opportunities for lifelong learning. Nearly 5,000 of the courses offered are accessible in multiple languages including Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, and Polish.

Santander has a long-standing commitment to education and entrepreneurship. Over its history of more than 27 years in this field, the bank has allocated over €2.3 billion towards grants benefiting individuals and businesses worldwide through partnerships with over 1,200 universities.

Coursera was founded in 2012 by Stanford professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller. It has grown into one of the largest online learning platforms globally with partnerships involving more than 350 leading universities and industry leaders offering diverse educational content.
