At approximately 6:45 a.m. on March 28, U.S. Air Force personnel provided assistance to a Polish citizen after a van accident near Powidz Air Base in Poland. The incident involved two Airmen from the 48th Logistics Readiness Squadron and five from the 48th Maintenance Group, who were deployed for exercise Rapid Panther.

"It was second nature for us to stop and assist the driver involved the incident," said a First Lieutenant from the 48th LRS. "Some of the Airmen immediately went to help the driver while another called emergency services. Once we knew the driver was out of immediate danger, we flipped the vehicle back onto its wheels."

An Airman from the 48th MXG expressed that being a good samaritan is instinctual and appreciated their presence at the scene. "There was no question about what to do, we just got to work quickly and did what needed to be done," he stated.

Exercise Rapid Panther focuses on enhancing collective readiness, strengthening relationships with NATO allies and partners, and reaffirming U.S. commitment to regional security. U.S. Air Force personnel frequently deploy across Europe for training exercises with these allies.
