The United States has expressed its solidarity with France following a recent terror attack in Strasbourg. Deputy Spokesperson Robert Palladino stated, "The United States stands in solidarity with France and condemns in the strongest terms the horrific act of terror in Strasbourg." He extended thoughts to the families and loved ones affected by the incident, as well as to all residents of Strasbourg.
Palladino praised the efforts of first responders and affirmed that the U.S. is prepared to offer any necessary assistance to French officials during this challenging period. He emphasized the commitment of the U.S. to collaborate with France and other allies to combat global terrorism, noting that "crimes that target the innocent only reinforce our shared resolve to stop these senseless attacks and those who would commit them."
In response to the attack, the U.S. Mission to France has issued a Security Alert for American citizens, offering consular support if needed. The alert advises U.S. citizens to remain vigilant and stay informed through media and local sources. Additionally, it encourages Americans in Strasbourg to reach out directly to family and friends back home regarding their safety.
