As part of the U.S. Embassy's yearlong celebration of "100 Lat Razem" (100 Years Together), honoring Poland's rebirth and American support a century ago, the Embassy supported the International Dance Theaters Festival in Lublin. The event, held from November 16-25, brought American ballet dancers and directors to Poland.

The festival took place at Lublin's Cultural Meetings Center for its 22nd year. It featured performances by New York-based Alvin Ailey II American Dance Theater and San Francisco's Alonzo King LINES Ballet. New York ballet luminary Colleen Thomas Young directed a performance with dancers from the United States, Poland, Ukraine, and Belarus to open the festival.

Cultural Attaché Dan Hastings attended the closing performance. In his remarks, he expressed gratitude towards Polish partners and American performers for fostering connections between Poland and the United States through performing arts.

The U.S. Embassy acknowledged the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Cultural Meetings Center, and City of Lublin for their support in hosting this cultural exchange.
