The "Kochmon and Cowboy Ride Together" project marks the 30th anniversary of friendly relations between the United States and the Kyrgyz Republic. As part of this initiative, professional cowboys from the U.S. will visit Kyrgyzstan to participate in various cultural activities, including Kok-Boru and Er-enish games, and showcase American cowboy traditions.
On March 14, a meeting with the American guests and a press conference will be held at Manas airport's VIP lounge. Media representatives are invited to attend, with free transport provided from Bishkek to the airport. Accreditation is required by March 13.
From March 15 to 20, the cowboys will stay in Issyk-Kul region, engaging in a busy schedule that includes friendly matches during the Kok-Boru championship on March 18 and 19 at Cholpon-Ata hippodrome. They will also participate in horse wrestling bouts and conduct training sessions with local players.
Workshops for local athletes are planned to promote cultural exchange. On March 21 and 22, cowboys will join Nooruz festivities in Bishkek, appear on national TV shows, and visit Sokuluk Rehabilitation Center for Children to donate prize funds won by the American Kok-Boru team at the 2016 World Nomad Games.
This project is organized with support from the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan and the "Kok-Boru" Federation, aiming for cultural exchange between both nations.
Notable participants include Nick Willert, an MMA fighter; Will Grant, a journalist; Ladd Howell, who works for a horse supplement company; and Scott Zimmerman, co-director of USA Nomadic Sports Federation.
