A Bomber Task Force from the 2nd Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana has been deployed to Europe. The task force, which includes B-52 Stratofortress aircraft, Airmen, and support equipment, is now operating within the U.S. European Command area of operations.
The aircraft are stationed at RAF Fairford in England. This deployment serves to exercise RAF Fairford as a forward operating location for bombers under United States Air Forces in Europe.
The mission also involves joint and allied training exercises aimed at enhancing bomber interoperability within the U.S. European Command theater. "Training with joint partners, allied nations and other U.S. Air Force units contributes to our ready and postured forces," stated a spokesperson. These efforts are intended to foster strategic relationships necessary for addressing various global challenges.
