Alumni Association hosts debate on U.S.-Polish diplomatic relations centennial

The Alumni Association, in collaboration with the Department of Regional Strategic Studies at Cardinal Wyszyński University of Warsaw and the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw, organized a presentation on democracy in the United States for university students. The event featured Prof. David F. Forte and Prof. Zbigniew Lewicki as speakers and was hosted by Vice President of the Alumni Association, Prof. Dariusz Góra-Szopiński.

Prof. David F. Forte currently holds the position of Distinguished Fulbright Chair at the Faculty of Law at the University of Warsaw and is also a Professor of Law at Cleveland State University's Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. His past roles include serving as Garwood Visiting Professor at Princeton University in 2016 and 2017, as well as chief counsel to the United States delegation to the United Nations during the Reagan administration. He has authored briefs for the United States Supreme Court and consulted with various government bodies on human rights issues.

Prof. Zbigniew Lewicki serves as a Professor of American Studies at Cardinal Wyszyński University and has an extensive background in American literature, culture, politics, and international relations. His career includes positions such as Director of Department of Americas in Poland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Head of the American Studies Center in Warsaw.

This debate marks the beginning of a series organized by Alumni Association to commemorate 100 years of U.S.-Polish diplomatic relations. The association comprises former participants from exchange programs sponsored by the U.S. Department of State like Fulbright and International Visitor Leadership Program.
