On March 9, Deputy Chief of Mission Eric Green addressed over 200 participants at the start of Vital Voices Poland's 8th Annual Mentoring Walk in Warsaw's Lazienki Park. The event was organized by Vital Voices Director Ela Raczkowska and her colleague Marta Byczkowska. They paired 100 young women mentees with 100 experienced women from various sectors such as business, civil society, government, and academia. This walk served as a networking opportunity for sharing best practices on career and leadership development.

Deputy Chief of Mission Green emphasized the positive impact that the mentoring event has on both mentors and mentees. Participants were also inspired by Janek Mela, a well-known Polish traveler and social activist who founded the Beyond Horizons Foundation. Additionally, attendees enjoyed a jazz performance by Sacha Strunin and her group.

Graduates from "I am a Leader," a project supported by the US Embassy and run by Vital Voices in Poland, participated as mentees during the walk. Members of the U.S. Embassy also joined in this initiative.
