US mourns loss of citizens in Ethiopian Airlines crash

The U.S. Department of State has expressed its condolences to the families and friends of those who lost their lives in the Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302 crash. The department confirmed that at least eight U.S. citizens were among the victims.

"Our embassies in Addis Ababa and Nairobi, in coordination with the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board, are working with the Government of Ethiopia and Ethiopian Airlines to offer all possible assistance," stated Robert Palladino, Deputy Spokesperson for the Department of State.

Efforts are underway by teams based in Addis Ababa, Nairobi, and Washington, DC to provide necessary consular support to the families affected by this tragedy.
