Cultural Attaché Dan Hastings met with nine distinguished alumni of the Fulbright Program in Poland on February 12. These individuals have been selected as the inaugural Fulbright Ambassadors for the Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission. This initiative, based in Warsaw, marks the 60th anniversary of the Fulbright Program in Poland.
The ambassadors were chosen from a pool of over 2,000 Polish alumni through an open competition. They hail from various regions across Poland and will work to promote the Fulbright program at universities and research institutions nationwide. Their responsibilities include sharing their experiences of studying, researching, or teaching in the United States, explaining the scholarship application process, and providing tips for submitting competitive applications.
The ambassadors will focus their efforts on nine academic communities: Białystok, Częstochowa, Gdańsk, Gliwice, Lublin, Poznań, Toruń, Warsaw, and Wrocław. Those interested in inviting an ambassador to inspire students about pursuing higher education opportunities in the United States can find more information at https://fulbright.edu.pl/ambasadorzy/.
