U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry concluded a significant two-day visit to the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, underscoring the strategic partnership between the United States and India. During his time in Gujarat, Kerry emphasized how U.S. technology and innovation could contribute to sustainable economic growth in the Indo-Pacific region.

Kerry's delegation included key figures such as U.S. Ambassador to India Richard Verma, Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth Catherine Novelli, Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal, and others. They were joined by Consul General Tom Vajda from the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai.

The summit was inaugurated by Kerry alongside Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. At the Global CEOs Conclave, Kerry addressed international business leaders on enhancing trade and investment ties between the two nations. In discussions with Modi, they explored ways to shape global politics and economics positively while promoting sustainable growth.

Kerry also engaged in bilateral meetings with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Bhutan's Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay. He met with India's Minister Piyush Goyal to discuss clean energy cooperation between the U.S. and India.

Outside official engagements, Kerry visited Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, discussing women's economic leadership with local entrepreneurs. He toured a Ford automotive factory set to open soon, representing a $1 billion investment that will expand manufacturing capacity in India.

This visit marked the first instance of the United States serving as a partner country for Vibrant Gujarat. Later this month, President Obama is scheduled to visit India as part of another milestone in U.S.-India relations.
